August 15, 2016 FCW.COM 25 The second iteration of the Network-Centric Solutions (NetCents-2) contract is a massive acqui- sition vehicle made up of multiple indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts that offer long-term access to a broad range of IT products, services and solutions from more than 75 vendors, large and small. The combined contract ceiling of more than $22 billion was even higher before the Enterprise Integration and Ser- vice Management contract closed for orders late last year. The suite of contracts for IT products, infrastructure solutions and application services is mandatory for the Air Force. But it can be a valuable option for other agencies as well. BY FCW STAFF JERRYSASLAV/U.S.AIRFORCE MAKING THE MOST OF NETCENTS-2 Air Force Enterprise Services Branch Chief Robert Smothers, shown here at Hanscom Air Force Base in April 2015, leads the efforts to make NetCents-2 as useful as possible for potential buyers. 0815fcw_025-031.indd 25 7/25/16 10:09 AM
