Some agencies stress Q4 spending more than others: New analysis from Deltek suggests that agencies’ fourth-quarter spending could be even higher than usual. Agencies have typically done 32 percent of their contract spending in Q4, with most of that coming in September: 20 10 0 OCT NOV DEC Q1 JAN FEB MAR Q2 APR MAY JUN Q3 JUL AUG SEP Q4 7% 7% 7% 7% 7% 7% 9% 9% 9% 6% 8% 18% 56% 47% 46% 44% 44% 32% 29% 27% 25% 17% (percentage of annual contract spending, five-year average) And IT spending is particularly likely to happen toward year-end: State Interior HHS USAID EPA GSA Treasury DOD NASA Energy 18% Health services 26% Defense/Aerospace 34% Professional services 39% IT 50% Architecture, engineering and construction (percentage of annual contract spending, five-year average)
